About

If you don’t want to know about me, then don’t read this page.  But if you are just a little curious about the wild child who writes this blog, then continue on…

I’m a 50-something woman.  I was born in Los Angeles California, and was raised in the San Fernando Valley and attended Catholic Schools for 12 years.  I attended Cal State Northridge and then moved north to the Central Valley, specifically Yosemite National Park where I was a park ranger for 3 years.  After that I moved down to the “flatlands” where I attended Fresno State University and worked in a hospital ER for 4 years.  The flatlands wasn’t really my cup of tea, so I moved to Sunnyvale to be with my significant other.

In 2002, my SO and I  moved my elderly mother with us to Pittsburgh PA.  Although mom has passed, we are still here in the ‘Burgh”, learning Pittsburghese and enjoying all of the beautiful things that the area has to offer.  We are also huge hockey fans, and we have season tickets to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

We don’t attend Pittsburgh Pirates games because up til now they have stunk it up and we can smell the poor play all the way down here in our yard, which is about 12 miles from the stadium as the crow flies.  This year has some promise, but I’m not going unless they prove to the city that they’re worth it.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (Or Picksburgh Stillers, as the natives will call them) have been nothing short of awesome.  But I won’t go to their games either, as the fans tend to get a little overexuberant and drunk.  If you think you can sit in your seat and watch the game, you are wrong.  Unless you are in the very front row, you won’t see a thing.  I don’t know about you, but I will not pay a huge amount for a seat that I am not able to sit in because I want to be able to see the game!

I love watching people, especially on the South Side, where people of all types and persuasions walk the streets.  There’s so much metal hanging through so many oddly located body piercings that it rivals the amount of steel needed to build a bridge around here!  LOL!

I could go on all day about the things that make Pittsburgh a fun and entertaining place to be.  But I’ll let you read what I write so you can decide for yourself.
